Billy Shanahan 2009 Trip to Tipp 200km cycle
Sign on was from 8am in the Anner Hotel Thurles, looks like a good turn out again this year.

Anxious faces as we get ready to roll out

Started off with a good pace, some of the lads were watching Nicolas Roche on the the tour last night

No bother to these lads as Brian Walsh tells a few jokes, tis always the funny boys down the back

Wasn't long before the drivers up the front had us in Dundrum, some of the lads had too much water this morning so we took a swift brake. We were also gifted with some serious bike handling skills from our friend from the chain gang. (Tralee)

Descent from the glen of Aherlow

Water Stop in Bansha, after the climb over the Glen

Everyone is well settled into the cycling at this stage and the pace is very well controlled, great job

The food stop, a welcome sight as we neared the bottom of our decent from The Vee

I don't think their is any need for the ash trays at this table

Brain Walsh, Templemore, happy with his work done so far, but like Fianna Fail, a lot more to do, approx 100km

Marshals going over the plan before we leave Cappoquin

Nearly home, we now have all the signs of the hard work completed over the day. No innuendo meant by the sign

Over the finish line

Some of the Marshals who made the Trip to Tipp a very enjoyable and safe event, top job
